John Theodore Sunstone, Jr., 91, of Waldorf, MD, died August 30,
2011, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD.
Mr. Sunstone was a retired Postal Deliveryman after 25 years of
service with the United States Post Office and a Veteran in the
United States Army Air Corp as a P-51 Mustang Pilot with the
35th �Flying Buzzsaw� Fighter Group, Fiifth Air Force credited with
95 missions and 290 aerial combat hours covering action over the
East Indies, Phillippines, Formosa, Korea, Okinawa, and Japan.
Born October 26, 1919, he was the son of the late John Theodore
Sunstone, Sr. and the late Alice Berry Sunstone.
Predeceased by his parents and one brother.
Survived by sister, Rose Marie Borden and six nephews and nieces,
Terry Sunstone, Mark Sunstone, Joanne Foster, Susanne Talley,
Joe Foster, and Laura Langford.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 9-10:15
AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La
Plata, MD 20646.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011,
beginning at 11AM at St. Mary�s Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway
Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
Fr. Timothy Baer will officiate.
Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
