Gertrude C. Gehring, 82, of Oldenburg, died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. She was born March 11, 1922 in Decatur County the daughter of Frank Lamping and Laura Saeger Lamping, both deceased. She married Leo Gehring on October 25, 1941 at St. Maurice Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Lamping of Oldenburg, Barb Nobbe of Batesville, Sharon Steinfort of Batesville; one son, Steve Gehring of Batesville; two sisters, Frieda Dyer of Greensburg, Loretta Macyauski of Greensburg; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Sell and two sisters, Helen Bessler and Claira Lamping.

Mrs. Gehring was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Family Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 17, 3 p.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev. John Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to Hospitality Hall or Batesville EMS 10.
