Mrs. Florence E. Abbott, 77 years old, cofounder of the Abbott Candy Co. of Hagerstown, died Monday in her home here.
She and her late husband, William C. Abbott, founded the candy firm. Since the death of the husband and a son, Mrs. Abbott and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rhea Abbott, have operated the business.
Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Congregational Christian Church, Progressive Club, Business and Professional Women and the Social Circle.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.
