St. George, Utah - Arthur William Litson, Age 82, passed on in his home in St. George on August 31, 2011 of natural causes.

He was born on November 7, 1928 in Murray, Utah to William R. Litson and Doreen Wright Litson Rhoades, stepfather Walter J. Rhoades.

He was a member in the LDS Church where he was ordained an Elder in the South Cottonwood Ward. He married Helen Jenienne Jewkes on the 19th day of May, 1950 in Murray Utah.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Doreen and Walter Rhoades; his father, William Litson; his sister, Betty Oliver and her husband Roy; his brother, Roy Litson and his wife Delores; and his brothers-in-law, Ken Jewkes and Creig Jewkes. He is survived by his wife, Jenienne Litson; his siblings, Margaret and Ellis Dawson; his children; 62 grandchildren; and 52 great grandchildren.

As a young man, he was active in all sports and was well-known in Salt Lake County for his softball pitching where he was listed in the Salt Lake County Hall of Fame. As his family grew, he enjoyed outdoor activities such as skiing, golfing, and camping. He also enjoyed bowling, just taking a ride, and sharing all that God had to offer with his family.

He was a master craftsman in drywall for over 50 years. He taught the art of drywall to many who went on to be master craftsmen themselves. He was a great teacher, hardworking, and a kind and loving man. He had a special gift of understanding and knowing what others needed. He was loved by many and respected by all who knew him. He had a beautiful voice that he shared with the people that surrounded him. One of the most enjoyable things of Art's life was ballroom dancing with his loving wife and other family members. He loved the holidays and all the times that his family would gather together.
