In 1920 Luther is listed as a fruit farmer. I found a source that stated his father Edward enjoyed cultivating strawberries. Luther, as an Orchardman, must have been his man in charge.
Luther and his comrades were the only American Aero squadron awarded the "Fourragere" decoration by the General Commander in Chief of the French Army for their service in Flanders, France, during World War I, October 22, 1916. See the document at left.
April 14, 2016, new information from FAG contributor Sylvia-- On Luther's Social Security application his birth parents are listed as John and Lena Alsup Solomon. Luther was born in Knox County, TN.
Luther died at age 72 at Mercy Villa Nursing Home, Springfield, MO from Cerebral Hemmorhage. RS Beal of Independence, MO is the informant on his MO Death certificate. It also states he was born in New Market, TN which is in Jefferson County, TN, conflicting with his SS application.
