POOLE, Ky. -- Mildred Gibson Caton, 84, of Poole died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at her residence.

She was born in Webster County on Sept. 23, 1915.

She was a housewife, a member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church, and a Sunday School teacher for 45 years. She also assisted with Webster County 4H Club, and was a member of Eastern Star Ermine #9 and a charter member of Tilden Homemakers.

She is survived by her husband, William B. Caton of Poole; one son, Dr. Ray Allen Gibson of Cave City, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Luzio of Newburgh, Ind., and Kim Denton of Corydon, Ky.; one sister, Mary Virginia Ong of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Shady Grove General Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Fulcher and Ron Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until noon today at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon and from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Shady Grove Church or St. Anthony's Hospice of Webster County.
