William Belitz, 83, of Manitowoc, route 1, died at his home early today after a short illness.
A native of Fond du Lac, Mr. Belitz was born May 18, 1866, lived for a time at Kiel, then became a hardware dealer at Cleveland. He also became active in banking and in the canning business. For the past 20 years he had resided at the present home. On Feb. 12, 1896, he was married to Emma Huhn, and the couple celebrated their golden wedding three years ago.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Milton B. Hess of Two Rivers, Mrs. Forest Duessing, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Herbert Schachschneider, of Milwaukee; two sons, Milton, of Two Rivers and Wallace of Cleveland; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Frerk, of Chicago. Mr. Belitz was a member of Modern Woodmen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Manitowoc, the Rev. A. C. Fischer, officiating. Burial will be in Saxon Cemetery at Cleveland.
