Melvin was born in 1936 to Edmond and Pauline Hunley in Noble IL. His father was injured and Melvin quit school at a young age to support his family. Melvin went to do construction work for Carwin Fulk at age 14. Melvin continued with his career in construction all of his life. Melvin fathered 8 children. Stephen(deceased), Mitzi (deceased), Tami (Tracy), Tim, Tony, Christina (Ebeling), Connie, and Jennifer. Melvin was a loving father to his children and "good ol Melvin" to all others who knew him. He is deeply missed and loved.
