Harley D. Small, 79, 3700 Floyd Blvd., Sioux City, retired machinist for Sioux Tools, Inc., died last Friday at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, at the Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Floyd E. Cripps officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa, under direction of the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home of Sioux City. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Donald W., Charles D., Kerry D. and David S. Small, Richard Johnson, Roger B. Barr, Charles II. Johnson HI and Gary S. Grenier. A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Small was born September 13,1892, at Pierre, S.D. He was a long-time resident of Akron, before moving to Sioux City. He married Eula M. Mills January 17, 1913, at Sioux City. He was employed as a machinist by Sioux Tools, Inc., from July 9, 1945, until his retirement in March of 1962. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and machinist local 1427 of the AFLCIO.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Donald E. and Harley E. both of Sioux City, and Loren C. of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Barr of Evanston, EL, Mrs. Lola Johnson of Meckling, S.D,, and Mrs. Laura Jensen of Omaha; two brothers, Wesley E. and Duane G., both of Burlington, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Norma M. Ruffcorn of Puyallup, Wash., grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
