US Congressman. Elected to represent New York's 32nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1923 until his death in 1928. Also served as a member of the New York State Assembly in 1910, and Speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1914 to 1920. He died in an airplane crash on May 1, 1928, in Whitney Point, New York.
