Mrs. Ruth Milligan Branch, age 94, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness.

She was a native of the Long Pond Community in Montgomery County and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She worked at United 5&10 in Vidalia for two years, in Hazlehurst as assistant manager for nineteen years, and at Hazlehurst Nursing Home for ten years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Branch; parents, Joseph Otto Milligan and Ammie Bell Garrett Milligan; and seven siblings, Aubrey Milligan, Sara Milligan Smith, Paul Milligan, Joe Milligan, Rufus Milligan, Mayo Milligan, and Frances Milligan Witt.

Survivors include two brothers, Billy Milligan and wife Pinky of Cedar Crossing, Donald Milligan and wife Sandy of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Bernese Callahan of Lakeland, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, May 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery with Jim Meadows officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 156, Vidalia, GA 30475.
