Sylvia was born in Dannebrog, NE.
on May 16, 1913 to Chris and Hilda Christensen. On June 3, 1933, she married Niels Ibsen in Dannebrog, where they made their home until 1942 when they moved to Port Orchard, WA.
Previous to her marriage she attended St. Paul School and later taught for 3 years.
She was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church in Waterman and was active in the church womens groups, Sunday School and other activities. She cared for foster children from the Port Orchard area until she became ill.
Survived by her husband Niels, two daughters, and son-in-laws, Mrs. Wayne (Marilyn) Brisbane, Olympia and Mrs. Ervin (Lenore) Peterson, Seattle: a son, Clarence, Dayton, Ohio: her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Chris C. Christensen, St. Paul, NE. Three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Alice) Bartle, St. Paul. Mrs. John H. (Mildred) Nelson, Boelus and Mrs. Dayton (Grace) Jensen, Omaha, NE. Two Brothers George and Max Christensen both of Dannebrog, NE. many nieces and nephews and 11 grand-children. Preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Frank (Katherine) Crha.
