Miss. Elsie Young Closson of 443 South Main street died Tuesday afternoon at Colby Haven in Boscawen where she had been a patient for the past 15 months. She was born in Hanover, November 18, 1857, the daughter of Asa Burton and Ariadne (Tilton) Closson. She had resided in Franklin for 80 years, coming here with her parents, when a little girl. She was a teacher in the Nesmith School for many years, retiring about 30 years ago. Miss Closson was the oldest living member of the Village Congregational Church, where she had been active in the work of the church. She served for nearly 40 years as church clerk. She was a member of the Ladies' Circle and the Cent Union Mission. She also taught in the Sunday School. One brother, Carlos F. Closson of this city, survives her. Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Pressey & Hale Funeral Home on Glenwood Avenue. Burial will be in the family lot at the Franklin Cemetery. Pressey & Hall are in charge of arrangements.
