Carlos Furnum Closson died at his home, 98 South Main street, Tuesday evening. He was born in Franklin, March 1, 1868, the son of Asa Burton and Aria Edna (Warner) Closson. He was a life long resident of this community. For fifty years he was employed by the railroad, serving as superintendent of this division at one time, freight yard conductor, freight brakeman, freight conductor, passenger train brakeman, baggageman and conductor. He was an unusual record of service. He retired from active railroad work in 1938 and with Mrs. Closson, devoted his interests to the antique business. He was a member of the business. He was a member of the Villlage Congregational church and at the time of his death was Senior Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Steves Closson, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Village Congregational church. Pressey & Hale are in charge of the arragements. Please omit flowers.
