The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton. Funeral services will be at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Strickland-Feagin Cemetery.
Mr. Tedder was born February 1, 1929, in Florence County, a son of the late Clyde S. Tedder and Letha Coward Tedder. He was a graduate of Olanta High School and was a Shipping Clerk at Florence Manufacturing Company until their closing in 1979. He then worked as a Shipping Clerk for Shaw-Walker Industries, retiring in 1991. Mr. Tedder attended Florence Bible Chapel and was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth "Lib" Miles Tedder of Florence; his daughter, Belinda "Bunnie" Tedder Gleason and her husband, Dale of Timmonsville; his grandchildren, Wil Gleason, Dustin Gleason and Katie Gleason, all of Timmons-ville; and his brothers, Fred Tedder of Hallendale, FL, and Henry Tedder and his wife, Patsy of Summerton. Mr. Tedder was preceded in death by a son, Dusty Ray Tedder, a brother, Sidney Tedder and a sister, Alphageneea Haynes.
The family would like to extend special recognition to Gloria McKay of Timmonsville, Glenda Caulder of Florence and Lizzie Sauls of Lake City for all their love and support. Memorials made be made to Camp Happy Days, 1622 Ashley Hall Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
