Martin had three brothers, David, Ernest & George & one sister Cora. He married Mary Emma Mahoney on October 22, 1905, in Hale, Missouri. They had two children during their marriage, Earl & Bernice. Martin's father & Mother are buried in Elizabeth Cemetery south of Hale. He died on January 16, 1967, in Carrollton, Missouri, at the age of 85.
