1925 - 2011

Junior Lee Claxon, 86, of Hopewell, went to be with his Lord August 28, 2011, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland surrounded by loving family members.

He was born June 2, 1925, in Hopewell, a son of the late Ambrose and Nevada Marie Bradford Claxon.

Junior was a former auto mechanic, a U.S. Korean Army Veteran, attended Glory Hill Community Church and visited many of the local churches.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Stacy Claxon; two sisters, Evelyn Claxon and Ella Faye Claxon; two brothers, William Thomas Claxon and Robert Douglas Claxon; and three sisters-in-law.

He is survived by one brother, Charles Claxon of Hopewell, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Bradford Family Cemetery with Delmar Rogers officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.
