Joseph N. "Joe" Lamanno, 72, of Sugar Creek, Mo, passed away, Friday, April 1, 2005 at Medical Center of Independence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made to St. Ann's Catholic School in Independence, MO. Joe was born December 23, 1932 in Kansas City, MO. He had worked for the Sprint Corporation for over 20 years retiring in 2000. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1954-55. He was an active member of the community and St. Ann's Catholic Church and School in Independence, MO. He was married to Judy Lamanno on September 5, 1960, she passed away on December 7, 2003. Survivors include; a son, Mark E. Lamanno and his wife Jerry of Blue Springs, MO; 3 daughters, Mary Salva and her husband Bill of Sugar Creek, MO, Lori Lamanno of Sugar Creek, MO and Nancy Lamanno of Lee's Summit, MO; a brother, Victor Lamanno of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Fran Cresswell of Independence, MO and Santina Vento of Lee's Summit, MO and 8 grandchildren. Joe was a loving father and devoted grandfather and will be deeply missed.
