MANILA—Funeral services for Robert Briggs were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997 at the LDS Church in Manila. Bishop Martin Rose conducted the services. Interment was in the Manila Cemetery.
Briggs, 93, of 11175 Payette Heights, Payette, Idaho, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996 at his daughter’s home in Payette. A resident of Payette for the past one year and former resident of McKinnon and Manila, Utah, Briggs had been in ill health for the past several days.
He was born on June 28, 1903 in Beaver City, Utah, the son of the late John and Jane Kirham Briggs. Briggs attended schools in Manila. He married the former Cloe Brough in Ecko City, Utah in 1939.
Briggs was a retired cattle rancher who worked in McKinnon for most of his life.
He was a member of the LDS Church, Farm Bureau, Soil Conservation Service and Cattlemen’s Association.
Survivors include his wife, Cloe of Payette; one son, Dale Briggs of McKinnon; two daughters, Eunice Haxton of Roberts, Mont., and Bonnie Youngberg of Payette; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Briggs was preceded in death by one son, Vance Briggs; five sisters; and three brothers.
