GALENA, KANSAS: Reta M. Weakley, age 57 passed from this world at 6:58 am, Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her home following an illness.
She was born to the union of Otis "Gene" Youngblood and Betty Jean (Lamb) Youngblood in Joplin, MO on November 6, 1954.
Her parents preceded her in death along with one brother that died at birth.
She married Donny G. Jenkins on July 26, 1974, he preceded her in death.
One son was born to this union; Dustin W. Jenkins.
She married Tommy R. Weakley on Feb 21, 2003.
Reta worked most of her life at McCann Dairy Dream, Sugar Creek Designs, and 18 years as a clerk at Lucky Miner Sales in Galena, KS.
Her hobbies were horseback riding, country and western dancing, fishing, riding four wheelers, and shopping with her sister.
Reta is survived by her husband, Tommy R. Weakley and Bo their faithful dog; one son, Dustin W. Jenkins, and fiancé Ashley Fowler, Webb City, MO; one biological granddaughter Olivia G. Jackson, Neosho, MO; 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Michael Lamb and companion Shirley King, Lowell, KS, Roberta Caswell and companion Dale Martin, Appleton, City, MO, Arles Youngblood and companion Michelle Cawthra, Galena, KS, Dale Youngblood and wife, Jean, Riverton, KS, Tammy Youngblood and companion John Dickens, Riverton KS, Eva Youngblood and roommate, Maria Anspach, Galena, KS; step-daughter, Missy Trickett and husband James; 2 step-granddaughters, Angel Trickett, and Tapanga Trickett, step-grandson, Sebastian Trickett all of Fairland, OK; father and mother-in-law, Howard and Doe (sic) [Doris] Weakley, Baxter Springs, KS; one sister-in-law, Sue Weakley, Loma Linda MO, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Reta was grateful to all the family and friends that have been there with her and Tommy through this long hard journey. Even though she has passed form this life, she is enjoying her new life in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Camp Joy Church, Joplin, MO. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate.
