She was married to Grant Byron LANGTON on June 26, 1918, in Stevens Point, Portage Co., WI.

Mrs. Grant (Gladys) Langton

Mrs. Grant Langton of Wisconsin Rapids, a Stevens Point resident most of her life, died Friday evening at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. She was 85. Funeral services will be held at the Boston Funeral Home 2 p.m. Monday, with Neal Ketchum of the First Church of Christ Scientist, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Forest Cemetery.

Mrs. Langton was the former Gladys Fletcher, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fletcher. She was born in Stevens Point Feb. 29, 1892, and grew up here. After graduating from the old Stevens Point Normal School, now the Univ. of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, she taught in Portage Co. grade schools for several years.

Her marriage to Mr. Langton was on June 26, 1918, in Stevens Point. He died Feb. 10, 1974, four years to the day before her death. Mrs. Langton lived here until 2-1/2 years ago, and since then had made her home with a son, Lynn, in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientst, and the Royal Neighbors of America in Stevens Point.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas and Lynn; a daughter, Mrs. Lolita Engebretson; a sister, Mrs. Fern Woodworth, Belvidere, IL; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A daughter, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
