Nettie Mae Wachowiak, age 92, of Stevens Point, left her "home sweet home" on this earth for her eternal heavenly home surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
She was born on June 23, 1921 to Anton & Katherine (Orlikowski) Cisewski. She married George Wachowiak on May 13, 1950.
Nettie attended Rockland School in the Town of Dewey. She worked for Joerns Company and as a housekeeper for the Parks family. She later dedicated her life to raising and supporting her family.
Nettie will be remembered for her beloved sense of humor. Her family and faith were extremely important. Nettie was a faithful member of Highland Church. Nettie treasured spending time with her family and hosting special events. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening, picking blackberries, and watching inspirational Christian TV. In her earlier years, Nettie enjoyed crocheting, baking, and loved to polka.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Glenn) Frost Callies; her son, Irv (Betty) Wachowiak; grandchildren, Jeff (Traci) Frost, Christy (Nathan) Lowery, Taylor Wachowiak, and Mikayla Wachowiak. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Irene Nieman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sisters, Emily, Bertha, Sylivia, Martha, Grace, Maggie, and Florence; brothers, Emil, Fred, Edward, Raymond, and Harry.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Highland Church, Plover with Pastor Dan Winkelman officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Boston Funeral Home and also on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Carol Rave, the staff at St. Michaels Hospital, and the staff at Community Health Care.
We are saddened by our loss, but are comforted by the knowledge that Nettie is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What she instilled in us will remain to guide us in life's choices, console us in life's downturns and bring a smile to our faces as memories of her surface in the years to come.
