IOWA CITY
Clifford W. "Cliff" Drymon 61, of 231 Augusta Ave., Oxford, formerly of Iowa City, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City, following a lengthy illness. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rose Garden, Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City, by Chaplain Tim Davison... Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
Cliff was born Nov. 20, 1938, in Mountain View, Mo., the son of Rupert H. and Lorene Coberly Drymon. Clifford was raised in Mountain View until the age of 15 and then lived in Alburnett and Palo - later moving to Iowa City. He had been a resident of Oxford since July of this year.
He was a truck driver for Iowa City Ready Mix for 28 years, retiring this year. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by two brothers, Herbert Drymon and wife Rita of Springville and Willard Drymon of Marion; two sisters, June Donnan of North Liberty and Donna Sue Knight and husband Ryan of Sleeper, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Steve Downes and wife Debra of Oxford.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Leonard "Pete" Donnan.
