IOWA CITY
Elma L. Africa, 85, a 30-year resident of Iowa City, died Wednesday in Friendship Haven at Fort Dodge following a lengthy illness.
Born April 22, 1902, at Fort Dodge, she married Henry Africa on June 29, 1927, at Le Mars. He died in 1969. A piano teacher. Mrs. Africa gave private lessons and also taught in the schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, PEO Chapter JF and Methodist Church Women's Circle.
Survivors include two sons, James of Norfolk, Va., and Robert of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, George L. Gay's. Burial: Memory Gardens. Memorials to First Untied Methodist Church.
