Bill Earl Adams, 59, of 1827 Western Dr., Cedar Rapids, formerly of Iowa City, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, in his home after a short illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, George L. Gay Funeral Home, by Chaplain Judy Gingerich of Iowa City Hospice. Private burial services will be held later at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Iowa City to Earl Edward and Ruth Marie (Peasley). He married Karen Schillg in 1963.
He worked for Maxwell Construction of Iowa City, retiring in March. He loved his job. He was on a bowling league for many years and loved to bowl with all his friends.
Survivors include four daughters, Dawn Skay and her husband,Brian, of West Branch, Jodie Engstler and her husband, Doug, of Beatrice, Neb., Tina McDanniel of Cedar Rapids, and Anna Starr and her husband, Rick, of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Bill Adams and his wife, Jayline, of Albert Lea, Minn., and Earl McDanniel of Cedar Rapids; his special companion, Carol McDanniel of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Roy Adams and his wife, Sharon, of Iowa City, and one sister-in-law, Doris Adams of Iowa City.
His parents; a granddaughter, Linzee Skay; a brother, Bob Adams and a nephew died earlier.
He will be loved and missed by all of us.
