Archie F. Bascue, 73, of Garden City, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City.

He was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Altus, Ark., to Tobie S. and Pearl Self Bascue.

A Garden City resident since the early 1960s, Mr. Bascue was a welder and farmer and had worked for many years at Holcomb Machine Works.

On May 22, 1965, he married Mary Knoll in Garden City. She died Dec. 27, 2009. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeff Bascue; a brother, Wallace Bascue; and a sister, Norma Jean Bascue.

Survivors include three sons, Patrick and Richard Bascue, both of Garden City, and Bob Bascue of Wichita; a daughter, Sherry Christian of Garden City; a sister, Bobby Claunch of Goose Creek, S.C.; and one grandchild.

Funeral was at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
