Daughter of John & Elicia King . Born possibly July 30, 1861, and ND Death records have her death on September 18, 1930. Her parents came to Iowa from PA. She sometimes spelled her name as, Manerva, and had the nickname of "Mack". Married David N Stevick in 1876 in Iowa. Death occurred in Rolling Green Township.
A summary of her Obituary and other items:On Friday, September 19, 1930, Minerva Ellen (King) Stevick died at 5:QO a.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Wlilliam and Sarah Jane. She had just observed her 69th birthday on July 30. In ill health for most of the summer, she was able to be up and around until July when she became bedfast. Her death certificate stated that "chronic valvular heart disease" was the cause of death. A memorial service was held at the William Stevick home at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, and the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the Rolling Green Church. Burial was at the Rolling Green Cemeterv, with the Hamre Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. She was survived by two sons: William E. and Bert, of DesLacs: and her daughter, Minnie Halligan of Minot. Two brothers also survived her: Dan King, a former Ward Co. resident: and Jess King, of Twin Falls, Idaho; as well as 16 Grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. .Six grandsons served as pall bearers: Carver. William K. , Wayne , Wayland Stevick and Claude & Bernard Halligan. Her obituary tribute said, "The home of the Stevick ranch known far and near as one of the most hospitable homes in the country. Mrs. Stevick had a motherly way of making one feel a welcome would not be forgotten. The memorv of her kindness and hospitality will linger throughout the lives of many of the pioneers of Ward Co. and the younger generation will also remember her motherly ways.
