Salona Mary "Nona" Thomas Nix was born in Hodgeville, Kentucky, she died in Joplin, Missouri. She was the daughter of Milton Thomas and Belle Girder. She married William Nix on October 9, 1890. William died at the age of 37,(1907) and left her a widow with 5 children, one from a previous marriage to Joseph Farrier Vaughan.
