Rites Set For
John A. Peugh

Services were set at 2 p.m. today for John Allen Peugh, 90, of the Knott community. Mr. Peugh died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness.
He was a retired farmer and had lived in Howard County since 1911 when he moved here from Stephenville. He was born Feb. 9, 1872 in Alabama and was married to Miss Addie Adeline Bartee in 1932 at Walters, Okla.
Services were to be at the Nalley-Pickle Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Ting, pastor of the Knott Baptist Church, officiating. He was to be assisted by the Rev. Haskell Beck, pastor of the Settles Baptist Church. Burial was to be in Trinity Memorial Park under the direction of the Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jene Shaw, Roosevelt Shaw, Larry Shaw, J. B. Shockley, J. S. Tunnell, E. R. McLain, B. R. Howell and W. L. Ramsey.
Mr. Peugh is survived by five sons, J. E. Peugh, Knott, M. O. Peugh, Plainview, H. B. Peugh, Tulsa, Okla., N. A. Peugh and H. D. Peugh, Santa Barbara, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. W. T. Shockley, Knott, Mrs. C. V. Hewitt, Big Spring, Mrs. Eula Bayes, Wichita Falls; a step-son, J. H. Puckett, Snyder; a brother, R. B. Peugh, Lubbock; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
