Another is Injured in Collision at Odessa, Mo

Odessa, Mo., May 31 (1958). - A volunteer fireman was killed and another injured here tonight when a fire truck overturned after a collision with a motor car.
James Hobbs, about 60, was crushed fatally beneath the truck. The other man, Edgar Lester, was taken to St. Luke's hospital in Kansas City. He was being x-rayed for a shoulder injury.
The truck was returning to the station from a fire when the accient occurred in a heavy rain. The driver of the car, Lloyd Westerhold, 35, also of Odessa, suffered shock and was taken to a physician's office for treatment.
Hobbs was a laborer. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth Hobbs, and a son, Eugene Hobbs, both of the home, and two other sons, Louis Hobbs and George Hobbs, both of Odessa.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Tuesday, June 3, 1958 at 2 p.m. and were conducted by Dr. Robert W. Gibson. Interment was in Odessa Cemetery by the Husman-Sparks Chapel, Odessa, Mo.
