Marie E. Jones, 79, of the 7200 block of Marcy St. passed away Monday, March 22, 2004, in a local hospital. Born in North Carolina, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donald "Goggie" Jones and her son, Johnnie Jacobs. She is survived by four daughters, Gracie Jacobs of Virginia Beach, VA, Donna Webb and husband Winston of Norfolk, VA, Alice Faye Smith and husband Reese of Irving, TX, and Linda Franks and husband Ken of Newport News, VA; three sons, Robin Ray Jones and wife Rhonda of Virginia Beach, VA, Herbert Jones of Norfolk, VA and George Jacobs of Virginia Beach, VA, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Dr. Kelly Burris officiating. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
