ANOTHER PIONEER IS NO MORE--ROBERT F. FOSTER

Robert F. Foster passes away at home in Gen Township this morning

Robert F. Foster died this morning following a stroke of apoplexy. The deceased was born in Beaver County, PA on Oct. 16, 1835. In 1860(sic 1857 according to Mary's obituary) he was married to Mary Erhart and five children survive that union: Mrs. Emma Mathieu and W. R. Foster of Stratford, Mrs. Jason Love of Portland, OR, Mrs. H.J. Gleason, Aberdeen, and Robert M. Foster, Devils Lake, ND.

Mr. Foster was an old resident of Brown County, being one of the pioneers of this region having lived on his farm in Gem township for many years. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, except that interment will be in Rondell Cemetery, as they are waiting for relatives.

Mr. Foster was an early resident of Rondell township, having filed in the early 80s on a homestead in section 23 town 121 range 62, residing there until the purchase of the farm near the bridge across the James River between Rondell and Gem townships, where the last years of his life were spent.

His son, W. R. Foster lived with his parents. Mrs. Foster preceded her husband to the Great Beyond two years ago last June. Mrs. Ed Mathieu, a daughter of the deceased, is also very ill at her home near Stratford.

(The oldest child of this couple was Herman Foster, born in 1858 in Beaver Falls, PA who died in 1889.)
