John Franklin Allemang: One of the substantial farmers and highly honored citizens of Sheffield township, died at his home in Dayton on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, of heart failure. Mr. Allemang had been in declining health since last fall and his death was hastened by a severe cold contracted about a week ago. He was born in Virginia, April 15, 1822, and came to this state about forty-five years ago and shortly after was married to Miss Sarah Fuller. There were born to this union two daughters and one son. One daughter, Mrs. Charles Friend, survives him. The funeral will be held at his late residence on Friday at 11 o'clock. Rev. Brown, of the Christian church, Frankfort, officiating. On account of declining health Mr. Allemang left his farm several years ago and made his home in Dayton, quietly enjoying a well earned rest after a long and active life on the farm. At the time of his demise he was 78 years 9 months and 17 days old. He had been an honored member of the Christian church from early manhood.
