Mrs. Swan died Wednesday, August 24, 2011, in Longview. She was born January 6, 1942, in Forrest to the late Bruce Dyer and and Mary Evalyn Hindman Swan and was a life long resident of Overton. She graduated Leverett's Chapel High School in 1960 and attended North Texas State University. She was the administrator for Baker Hughes in Kilgore and retired after 16 years. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting.
Besides her parents, Ms. Swan was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Swan and George Davis.
Survivors include sisters, Dee Swan and Jeanette Swan Lawrence, both of Overton; a niece and a nephew and their spouses, Sheryl and Marshall Slot, and Erik and Jennifer Lawrence; and six great nieces and nephews, Bryson Slot, Brianna Slot, Braden Slot, Madison Lawrence, Reese Lawrence and Jackson Lawrence.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Slot, Bryson Slot, Erik Lawrence, Mike Swan, Thomas Swan, and Doug Swan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, August 26.
