In Memoriam
Virginia Jean Adams, the little sunbeam of our hearts and home, was {missing text of about 4 words} death's angel Saturday, February 10th, and the funeral was held Tuesday, February 13th from the home of her uncle, Mr. Harry Hankinson of Sharon Avenue, where she had been cared for ever since she was six weeks old. She was 4 years old at the time of her death. She was an unusually bright and attractive child and carried sunshine wherever she went. Her friendly disposition caused everybody to love and admire her. We shall miss our darling but humbly say amid our tears "Thy will be done". The following beautiful poem was dedicated to her memory by Mrs. George Brush.
Virginia You Were Rightly Named
You came to us in troubled days
To cheer us with your baby smile;
To comfort us with winsome ways
And brighten life for us awhile.
Love's fairest blossom frail and fair,
You were the first to fade and die;
You left us to our deep despair
With sadden hearts and tear dimmed eyes.
Out in the sun-kissed grassy slope
We laid you down one winter day;
"Twas then we buried sweetest joy
In that dark grave wherein you lay.
