Harold served in WWII with the U.S. Army, 1st Armored Division in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He retired in 1978, USNR (ret) CB EOCS.
Prior to the war he worked at the Civilian Conservation Corp. He retired GS-13 after 30 years working as an equipment operator, instructor and inspector for the U.S. Civil Service.
He married his lovely wife Josephine, on December 8, 2000 and loved to fish, play cards, watch baseball and football and visit with his family and friends.
Harold is survived by his wife Josephine, his sons; Rick Vindhurst (Judy), Jack Vindhurst (Tracy) all of Evansville, IN, grandchildren; Rick, Elizabeth, Ashlee, Justin, great-grandchildren; Alexandrea, Madison and Carson. He also leaves behind his sisters, June Bettencourt and Joyce (Joe) Wise and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 4p.m. – 8p.m. at the Chapel of the Pines. Services will be held on Monday, September 19, 11:00 a.m. at the South Baptist Church in Paradise. Final resting place will be at the Paradise Cemetary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paradise Hospice House.
