Delphia Stepp Allison

Delphia Stepp Allison, 88, of Hendersonville, passed in to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, June 21, 2004 at Universal Health Care surrounded by the love and devotion of her family.

A native of Transylvania County, she had lived in Henderson County most of her life. She was the youngest of five children of the late William and Fannie Stepp. She was married to the late C.B. Allison for 51 years prior to his death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gene Allison in 1988 and Charles Allison in 1935; a granddaughter, LeShea Allison; a great grandson, Tyler Foster; three sisters, Viola Marshall, Leota Bryson, and Reba Phalen; and a brother, Claude Stepp.

Mrs. Allison was a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church and was taken under the wing of West Hendersonville Baptist Church during the latter years of her life.

Throughout her life she was the heart and soul of her family, always putting them first giving encouragement when they needed it and taking great pride in their accomplishments no matter how small.

In addition to her family, she loved cooking and music. Both of which she did with great enthusiasm and her biscuits were legendary.

Survivors include her son, Larry Allison and his wife, Judy; a daughter, Jewell Murphy and her husband, Paul, all of Hendersonville; a daughter-in-law, Guynell Allison of Etowah. She was beloved ?Muv? to her eight grandchildren, Sherrie Foster and her husband, Bill, Shawna Hensley and her husband, Donnie, Lisha Corn and her husband, Alan, Keith Murphy and his wife, Tiffany, Brandi Allison, Charles ?Chuck? Allison, Ronda Allison and Evan ?Chip? Allison and his wife, Ashley. She was adored ?Muvvie? to her 10 great grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, Alyssa, Shayla, Dylan, Bryson, Josh, Brittany, Ashelie and Logan.

The funeral will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at West Hendersonville Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Magnet and Tracy Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-8:30pm Wednesday at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and other times at the residence of Paul and Jewell Murphy, 633 Sunrise Drive in Hendersonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Hendersonville Baptist Church; 730 Willow Street; Hendersonville, NC 28739.
