Chancey D. Hewson, 89, of Wonder Lake, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
Chancey was born March 23, 1922, in Thawville, a son of Marion and Anna Hanson Hewson. He married Darleen D. McFadden on December 20, 1958 in Thawville and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2008.
Surviving are one son, Stephen Hewson of Rolling Meadows; one daughter, Beth Hewson of Frisco, TX; two step-daughters, Patricia (Day) & Lewis Lytell of Bonita Springs, FL and Sharon (Day) & Pat Sterling of LaCrosse, WI; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Hewson farmed in the Thawville area.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Ridgeland Twp. Cemetery in Thawville. Rev. Tom Jones will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.
