Darwin Jones, 82, of Allendale, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale. Burial will be in Allendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed at the gravesite by the Mt. Carmel Veterans Organization.

Jones was born June 28, 1916, in Princeton, Ind., the son of Alonzo and Clara (Pritchett) Jones. He married Ada Mae Smith Sept. 30, 1939, in Vincennes, Ind.

He was a veteran and an oil field worker. He was a member of VFW Post #4276 and American Legion Post #423, of Mt. Carmel.

He is survived by his wife, of Allendale; two sons, Silas "Mickey" Jones and Terry Jones, both of Allendale; one daughter, Shirley Jean Stoltz, of Pesotum; two brothers, George Jones, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and John Jones, of Twin Falls, Idaho; one sister, Lucille Chestnut, of Twin Falls, Idaho; and two grandchildren, David Stoltz and April Dawn Stoltz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bertis, and a sister, Izetta Morris.
