Arlene B. Sudik, 85, of Lincoln, formerly of Wahoo, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Bryan LG East Medical Center in Lincoln.

Arlene B. Holub was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Malmo to Frank and Josephine (Simanek) Holub. She attended grade school at District 26 country school and later graduated from Wahoo High School in 1942. She took classes at Luther College in Wahoo and obtained a teaching certificate, then taught at country schools in the Yutan and Ceresco areas. She married John Sudik on Dec. 27, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon. They made their home on a farm south of Wahoo for many years and later moved into Wahoo. She moved to the Legacy in Lincoln in August of 2006.

She had been a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.

Survivors include: three daughters, Judy (Dr. Larry) Swanson of Wahoo, Janice (Harold) Cacak and Mary Beth (Steve) Fulton, all of Lincoln; two sisters, Sylvia Machovec of Lincoln and Olga (Ken) Walline of Wahoo; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a granddaughter and a sister.

Private family services will be held.
