Dossie Ella Plybon was born on Jan 1, 1886, in Nine Mile Prairie Township in Callaway County in the State of Missouri. She was the 3rd child and 2nd daughter of Joseph Benjamin Plybon and Mary Frances Dillon. She was their first child born in the State of Missouri, having come to Missouri in the previous year. She married George William Miller on Jan 19, 1905, in Mexico, Missouri. She was mother of 5 Miller children; Stella Mae (Lynn/Richardson), George William, Frederick Benjamin, Mary Frances (Ellis) and Martha Louise (Kurtz). She died in Audrain County Hospital, after residing in a Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Missouri, for the previous year. Funeral Services were held at the Farber Baptist Church on Christmas Eve, 24 Dec 1963, and burial was at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, just west of Vandalia, Missouri. In her later years, she had told me that she was born in Virginia and came to Missouri sitting in her rocking chair while riding in the families wagon. Being her grandson I of course believed her but now know that she was in fact born in Missouri. I liked her story just the same, but have now corrected my error.
