Skater Loses Life When Ice Breaks

Missoula, Nov. 11--Frank Syla of Horte was drowned Sunday while skating on the reservoir at Horte. With his two brothers he was enjoying the sport, when the ice gave way, plunging him into 20 feet of water. The brothers ran for their father, and his life, too, was endangered when he was precipitated into the water in his effort to find trace of the body of his son. A rescuing party from a nearby reclamation camp succeeded in getting him out and about 7 o'clock that evening located the body of the son. The young man was 21 years of age.
