Wynema Ruth Wagner 75, lifelong resident of the Duncan area, embarked from Duncan and reached her heavenly home on Monday, August 22, 2011.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday at Gospel Beams Church with Rev. F. Ray Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Wynema was born January 5, 1936, to Affie L and Mae (Stewart) Alexander on Lee and Alice Stewart's home place west of Duncan. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1954, and was married to Kenneth O. Wagner on Nov 9, 1962 in Duncan.
She was a member of the Banner Assembly of God Church from 1936 to 1956, and Gospel Beams Church from 1961 until present.
Her employment included a clerical position in the Duncan Public Schools Superintendent's office from 1956 to 1963. Personal attendant for several Duncan families in the 1980's. A teaching assistant in the Life Christian Academy at Gospel Beams Church from 1992 to 1996, and has been custodian for Gospel Beams Church since 1971. Wynema enjoyed traveling, visiting all the lower 48 states twice and Canada six times.
She was a faithful member of Gospel Beams Church. A very devoted family member, taking care of her parents and her grandmother until their deaths. With the help of her son she kept in touch with all her relatives and their home was the "meeting place" for all out-of-town family and friends.
Wynema is survived by her husband Kenneth of the home; a son Randall K. Wagner of Duncan, a brother-in-law Alvin Wagner of Wichita Falls, Texas; and 16 cousins: Louis Love, Oma Jean Fincher, Wayne Towler, Faye Eason, Clifton Towler, Rheba Hendrickson, Joy (Kerley) Burchett, Troy Stewart, Richard Stewart, Doyle Stewart, Marie Hansen, Linda Albright, Wanda Mankin, Diane Montgomery, Betty Jean, Sherry Bearden.
Wynema was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Clinton D. Wagner.
Bearers will be Steve Lovett, Donnie Quattlebaum, Buddy Willis, Dale Harms, Gus Gardner, and Arnold Johnson.
