He was a retired physician in Shively, where he worked for 50 years, a Navy veteran of World War II, a former member of the board for the Jefferson County Public Schools and a member of Audubon Country Club.
Survivors: a son, Dr. Robert B. Shacklette of Vine Grove; a daughter, Martha S. Thomas of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a sister, Josephine Shacklette of Battletown; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove. Burial: Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation: after 5 p.m.
