Prominent Citizen, Respected by All, Passes Away After Brief Illness Tuesday Night
On Thursday afternoon, November 12, took place the funeral of one of Oak Park's oldest and most esteemed citizens, Miller Hall.
Miller Hall, son of Charles and Mary D. Hall, was born in Sheffield, England, March 10, 1834. He was one of nine children. He came to America in 1854, and settled in an English colony at Dyersville, Ia.
His marriage to Emma Woodward took place at Dyersville, Ia., in 1860. Their marriage has been an especially congenial one, and their home has been blesse by the birth of four sons an one daughter. The daughter died in infancy. The four sons and their mother all survive him, as does his brother, Raphael G. Hall of Clyde (Cicero), Ill. William D. Hall, Frank E. Hall, Albert Hall and Fred E. Hall, are the members of the firm of Miller Hall & Sons. Miller Hall, for many years, was engaged in the wholesale cutlery business. During the last twenty-two years he has been the senior member of Miller Hall & Sons, the pioneer brass and iron bedstead manufacturers.
