Elizabeth Westick was born at Ottawa, Ohio, on Jan. 15th, 1844. In early womanhood she came to Waterloo, Iowa. In September , 1868 she was united in marriage to Daniel Fuoss. Shortly after their marriage they located on a farm north of Dysart where they resided for many years. Later they moved to wahat is know as the Fuoss homestead in southwest Clark township. Mr. and Mrs. Fuoss were among the pioneer residents of the Dysart vicinity having lived here over fifty years.
In the year of 1894, the latter part of March, the husband and father passed to the Great Beyond. The family remained on the farm until 1907 when she in company with a son removed to Dysart, where she since resided.
Three sons and three daughters were born to this union, namely: Ed residing in Riceville; Mrs. Rose Matthiesen at Waterloo; Mrs. L. A. Carry at Twin Falls, Idaho; Anna, Wm. D., and Louis residing at Dysart. Also three sisters, Mrs. John Miller, Ottawa, Ohio; Mrs. Will Morman, Deshler, Ohio, and Mrs. Carolina Meyer, Dunkerton, Iowa."
