MRS. ELIZABETH AUSTIN MARKS
UTICA HERALD-DISPATCH
TUESDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 19, 1918
Fort Plain , Feb. 19.—Mrs. George Marks, aged 73 years, died yesterday afternoon at her home in this village. Mrs. Marks had been in poor health for a long time, and her condition had been serious for the past week. She was a native of Falrport, but came to Fort Plain many years ago. Previous to marriage and locating here, Mrs. Marks had resided in the West and followed the vocation of school teaching. Mrs. Marks was devoted to her family, who with many friends, will regret her death. Besides her husband the deceased is survived by two sons, Charles L. Marks of this village and Edward Marks of New York; also one daughter, Mrs. Fred Hime of Ephretah. The private funeral will be held from the late home Wednesday afternoon, and a prayer service will be held at the Catharine Nellis Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Mr. Tappen, pastor of the Episcopal Church which the deceased was a member, officiating. The remains will be placed in the chapel vault and interment will later be made in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so this evening.
