She was born in Brooklyn, December 9, 1848, the daughter of Thomas Travis. Her parents died when she was a mere child. She came to Peekskill in 18K5. In 1868 she was married to Wright Travis, and they have lived in Peekskill ever since.
She is survived by her husband and six ohildren; two sons, Elwood D. Travis, of New York, and Frank L. Travis, of Peekskill, and four daughters, Jeanie A., Cora M., Gertrude L. and May, all of Peekskill. There is also one brother living, who is United States Consul at San Domingo, in the West Indies.
The funeral services were held at her home, on Tuesday, at 11 a. m., and were conducted by the Rev. Alvah Grant Fessenden and the Rev. Dr. Hugh O. Townley. The interment was in Hillside.
