Greenfield---Services for Russell B. Coats, 90, a retired farmer, who resided at 306 Broad, Street in Greenfield, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 1982, at Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield, with the pastor Bro. Wayne Perkins officiating. Burial was in Hornbeak Cemetery with Williams Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Coats died Wednesday, November, 17, 1982 at his home following an illness of several months duration.
Jack Porter, Russell Baker, James Porter, Carey Swaim, Wayne Coats and James L. Overton served as active pallbearers.
He was born in Greenfield on July 30, 1892, where he was reared. He was the son of the late Jim Coats and the late Mrs. Emma Young Coats. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield, where he had served as a former deacon for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs Russeline Baker of Ripley, Tn. a son, Harold Coats of Orlando, Fla., three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
