TRINITY – Services for Nelma Jean Brantley Stephens, 72, of The Woodlands were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Trinity Church of Christ.

Burial followed in Clapp Cemetery.

Mrs. Stephens died Monday, Dec. 29, in The Woodlands. She was born April 29, 1936, in Trinity County and was a homemaker and mother. In her later years, she went to work for Weiners Department Store.

Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Della Brantley.

Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Dana and Leland Heuszel of Huntsville and Mary and James Bryer of New Caney; two sons, Randy Stephens and Rusty Stephens, both of Trinity; two brothers and their spouses, Lard L. and Frieda Brantley of Cypress and Edgar Lynn and Sherrill Brantley of Pasadena; a sister, Donna Wall of Tomball; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jimmy Ragsdale, Stephen Heuszel, Janice and Robby Thompson, Amanda Heuszell and Shaun Cook and Jesse Heuszel; five great-grandchildren, Austin Ragsdale, Thomas Cook, Travis Cook, Hailey Thompson and Macie Thompson; several nieces and nephews; a number of other relatives; and many friends at Tamarac Pines in The Woodlands.

Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
